Same Sex Attraction
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light" (Mark 11: 28-30).
As parents, we can face some daunting challenges with our children. One, is the discovery that he or she is homosexual or has same-sex attraction.

Parents who learn that a son or daughter has same-sex attraction may grieve the loss of expectations they had - such as being biological grandparents - and can become fearful of what family members and friends will say. Many blame themselves and may not know how to relate to their son or daughter with the new revelation.
The Family Life Office offers support for parents through the “Always Our Children” ministry. Always Our Children helps parents navigate through their feelings while continuing to demonstrate love for their child, whether an adolescent or adult.
Homosexuality is not a sin in and of itself. But the Church calls all unmarried Catholics, whether their orientation is heterosexual or homosexual, to live chastely; that is, to not act upon sexual desires or inclinations.
